'Scheme for proposed sub-marine railway across the Straits of Dover to Calais': sheet containing longitudinal sections of the Channel, showing the depth of the sea bed and the route of the proposed tunnel (including a suspended tube); and cross-sections showing the construction of a tunnel, ventilation towers and a floating dock. By William George Tolliday, Inventor, Chelsea; lithographed by J Leitch and Co, Farringdon Street. Originally enclosed in a letter, recommending his scheme, from Tolliday to the Earl of Derby, 26 November 1874.
