Middle East: Ottoman Empire, Persia. 'Sketch of the Province of Zohab': map (of territory now in Iran and Iraq) showing the frontier as claimed by the Ottoman and Persian commissioners and as proposed by the mediating commissioner. Scale 1 inch to 4.1 miles. Based on Colonel Sheil's map, 1852; lithographed for the Foreign Office by Harrison and Sons, Saint Martins Lane, 1912. MS additions showing print number amendments for a reprint and marking 'the limits of Mr. Soane's map of 1912'. On sheet 45 cm x 47 cm. Originally enclosed in despatch number 182 from Sir Gerard Lowther, British Ambassador, Constantinople, to the Foreign Office, 4 March 1913. For copies of Mr Soane's map, see items 5-6, 11.
