Newcastle to Cumberland: the king assumes that the prince of Orange will direct Count d'Aylva to follow Cumberland's suggestion, and thinks that as the French king has not left for the army, he will probably ratify the peace preliminaries. Naming a day for the cease fire is left to Cumberland and Sandwich. The king will leave for Hanover when parliament rises. Dated (OS) at Whitehall. ff. 286-289
