This series contains Air Raid Precautions Circulars and their successors, Home Security Circulars. They were issued to chief constables and clerks of local authorities (or other officers of similiar rank and standing) between 1939 and 1945. The Home Security Circulars each bear the reference HSC followed by the number and year of the circular. The declassified ones are to be found in HO 204/6
When the Ministry was dissolved in May 1945, the sequence of Home Security Circulars was continued as Civil Defence Circulars, bearing the reference CDC.
