Prince of Orange to Cumberland: the states general have received news that 30,000 men under d'Estrées and Clermont are approaching Maastricht, which lacks a big enough garrison to make a good defence. He would like it to be reinforced by the Croats he understands to be near Venlo. He is prepared to meet Cumberland at Bergen op Zoom. Dated at The Hague. ff. 352, 353
