Cumberland to Chesterfield: Ansons's victory [Finisterre]. French king not yet with his army. Bathiani's concern that his right wing cannot be supported. Numbers of the Austrians. Recommendation for promotion for Lieutenant Colonel Cockayne. Saxe's wish that the French prisoners in England may be sent home is endorsed by Cumberland. Dated at headquarters in 'Bauwel'. PS that his request for promotions was confined to major generals and brigadiers. ff. 299-302
