This series contains its Regional Circulars which were issued to principal officers at Regional Civil Defence Headquarters between 1940 and 1945: each bears the reference HSR followed by the number and year of the circular. (HO 204/6 contains some declassified Home Security Circulars bearing the reference HSC).
When the Ministry was dissolved in May 1945, the sequence of Home Security Regional Circulars was continued as Civil Defence Regional Circulars, bearing the reference CDR.
