Description

Cumberland to Chesterfield: Lowendal has taken 30,000 men with a siege train into Dutch Flanders and is investing Sluys. Lieutenant General la Roque promises to defend the manor of Hulst if he can have 5,000 men. Cumberland encloses a letter from the states of Zealand [SP 87/22/69]. His interview with the pensionary and meeting with Sandwich. Totals of allied troops encamped in the line. Dated at headquarters at Tilburg. ff. 144, 145
