Description

To Ligonier from Harrington: Ligonier is to ascertain the opinions of Prince Charles [of Lorraine] and Bathiani on the subject of winter quarters. The earl of Sandwich is negotiating on the subject with the Dutch. Harrington requires returns of Austrian troops [in British pay]. He encloses a letter of complaint from M. Seigneur and the response of the lords of the admiralty. Dated (OS) at Whitehall. ff. 110-112
