Newcastle to Cumberland: his last letter was, in Newcastle's absence, laid before the lords justices, who have ordered the further drafts from the four Guards battalions. These, together with 5,600 of the 8,000 Austrians Cumberland has contracted for, will bring the king's army to its required strength of 40,000.
