Newcastle to Bentinck: an immediate loan of one million pounds Sterling is not feasible. The king had thought that this problem had been addressed by the raising of the fiftieth penny. The republic must use all its resources and funds to put its army in the field in good condition. Cumberland must by now be in the Netherlands, and is fully instructed in the king's wishes.
