Description

Reports on the case of the ship Congou, which had arrived on 20 January 1885 in distress. Explains that the credit of the master of the vessel has been suspended, and that the crew are destitute. Asks for instructions for dealing with the crew. Encloses copies of letters from the Attorney General, local agents for the vessel W C J Hyland and Company, and the ship's managing owner Richard Staunton. Also see CO 37/216/60, CO 37/216/62
