de Maubuge, Mary
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Maubuge requests that a remedy be ordained and her husband be delivered since he served with Cornwaill in all of the prince's wars, and if he is not delivered they will be disinherited forever. Her husband sold some of their land and put others in pledge to come into England when the king passed into France. On his coming he was imprisoned under suspicion of being a spy and suffered while he was in prison and is in great hardship and poverty.
Nature of endorsement
If the prince wishes to attest for the complainant that the complaint is in the manner as the bill suggests, then she should have a writ to deliver it to her if it was not detained for another reason.

Note
The petition dates to c. 1360, for it refers to the king going overseas, and it would seem that the king went overseas late in 1359 (CCR 1354-60, p.656).
