Nature of request
The countess requests that the king order to his council that it be ordained for her estate and honour because she has become a liege woman and entered his homage and of their good grace that the king's commandment be accomplished and that she be acquitted of her debt and have her sustenance. She states that she requested at the last parliament at Westminster that the king will have regard for her estate and ordain for her sustenance since she is in debt because of her sustenance because she has nothing from her lands in Scotland because they are ruined by the war.1)
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege et magno consilio.2) It pleases the king that she have two marks a week in aid of her sustenance, and she should have letters patent, and let it be ordered to the treasurer and chamberlains to pay it to her from the Treasury at the will of the king.

Note
The petition can be dated to 1337 as the king granted the countess two marks a week on 15 March 1337 (CPR 1334-8, p.409). Bain dates this to October 1334 but on what basis it is not clear (Bain, vol. III, no.1138).
