Nature of request
The petitioners request remedy and that they be sustained in their estate that they have been before this time, and that the palace ought to be free of this duress. The petitioners hold in chief of the palace of the king as do their ancestors and have no other bailiff except the bailiff of the palace. During the fair of Westminster the abbot's bailiffs amerce them in their court and will not allow them to sell without making a ransom to them at their will to the great damage of the tenants.
Nature of endorsement
Anyone who feels they have a grievance should seek justice by a writ of Chancery against the abbot and anyone else in accordance with his case.
