Nature of request
Copy of a writ to the sheriff of York to restore the lands and tenements, goods and chattels to Lascy and any distraints made on him.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered to the justices within written that they should enquire if the late sheriff lately seized into the king's hand the many goods and chattels which were Robert de Lacy's which amounted to the value of £67 15s. 4d.. And if thus then what and of what value, and how and in what manner, and if they were not seized then to whose hand the goods came before they were seized into the hand of the king, and in whose hand they exist and how and in what manner, and they should do what they see ought to be done for the king. The late sheriff is not to be charged beyond what he was able to seize.
