- Nature of request
- Lysewy states that the abbot has claimed to the council for the reversion of the manor of Whitefield which his predecessors had leased to Weyvill for his life, and he is now dead. The abbot has proceeded to sue, but by this process the king's rights will be impaired, and Lysewy, to whom the king had granted the manor for his life, would be wrongfully kept from his estate. Lysewy requests that the king charge his council and justices that judgement should not be rendered to his prejudice or that of his estate without determining the defence and evidences that Lysewy would wish to say for the king and himself.

Note (Additional information about the record)
- The duplicates of this petition which are endorsed are dated to 1334 by the heading in Rot. Parl., vol II, p.73, making this petitions in parliament in 8 Edward III, though the record here is a Hale transcript. As Lysewy received the grant only in June and August 1334, it must date to later this year if Hale's attribution is correct (CPR 1330-4, pp.549 & 567).
