Nature of request
The parson requests a writ to the keeper of the forest of Sherwood to enquire if the haye of Linby is within the parish of Linby or not, and if it is found by inquisition that it is within the parish, notwithstanding the entry of the prior of Felley into the haye, that the king will order that the parson have the right of his church. The haye, an assart is within the parish, but the prior entered it and has taken away the tithes against the estate of the church, and to the parson's prejudice.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered to the keeper that in the presence of the prior and parson he enquire if the haye is in the parish or in the other, and if it be several or common, and if it is enclosed, and if the tithes were given before this time, then what tithes and to whom they were given, and of other articles, and let the inquisition be returned into Chancery.
