Nature of request
Geoffrey, parson of Lydford, states that the sum of 60s., which he received annually from the keeper of Lydford, in exchange for his church's tithes from the agistment of livestock and other profits from Dartmoor, has been withheld for three years, on the pretext that, since the plague of cattle at that time, there has been no livestock on Dartmoor. Because his church has been endowed with this as a fixed sum from time immemorial, in exchange for these tithes, he thinks that it ought not to be withheld, and requests justice.
