- Malcolm Vale discusses this petition on p.154 of The Angevin Legacy and the Hundred Years War, 1250-1340, (Oxford 1990), where he dates it to 1305. This tallies with the reference to John de Havering, Seneschal of Gascony and the instruction in the endorsement to inform the Prince.
