Nature of request
Anthony de Lucy requests that William de Douglas and William Bard, his prisoners of war captured in Scotland, might be returned to him: they were taken from him as the king and his council know, and, although the king has often ordered that they be returned, this has not been done.
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege et magno consilio.He is to inform the council of the names of those who took the prisoners from him, and who lay claim to them, and then he is to have a writ to the them, to be before the king at Newcastle upon Tyne on the morrow of the Trinity, to do and receive what the king ordains through his council; and Anthony is to be there on the same day.
