Nature of request
Laurence de Louches of Oxfordshire states that after the death of Laurence de Blountesdone, his tenant, he entered into his tenements in Little Milton under title of wardship, and was seised of them, until Adam de Keresseye, sub-escheator of Oxfordshire, expelled him, claiming they were held of the king. Laurence is ready to aver in any way the court chooses that the only tenements Laurence de Blountesdone held of the king were a virgate of land in Blunsdon in socage. He requests a remedy.

He is to wait until the inquisition, which is to be taken by the Escheator by a writ of diem clausit extremum, has been returned.

Note
CCR 1296-1302 p.456 is dated 5 July 1301. The inquisition has clearly been returned by this time, and has found that what the petitioner claims is true, and the king has removed his hand from the tenements in Little Milton. This petition must have been presented before this date.The writ for CIPM, vol. IV no.27 is dated 25 January 29 Edward I (1301).
