Note
The attack mentioned in the petition took place on the Saturday before St Luke, in the king's seventh year (October 1333). This petition is unlikely to date from long after this. It also seems to be contemporary with SC 8/59/2901: the language is similar, and both describe the attacks on Londoners in Little Yarmouth as an infringement of the Great Charter.CPR 1334-8 p.430 is dated 3 May 1337. John de Perbroun and Thomas de Drayton are described as collectors of customs in Great Yarmouth in CCR 1333-7 pp.251 (September 1334) & 546 (February 1336).
