Nature of request
The petitioner seeks action in certain matters:1) To remedy the defects in Dunstanburgh Castle.2) Six weeks arrears of wages for himself and his men, inasmuch as he is paid in victuals at the same rate as those received in lieu of wages by the troops at Newcastle, while he transports them to Dunstanburgh at his cost and danger.3) To restore an assized rent of forty marks from the township of Hinckley granted him for life by the late earl of Lancaster and seized by the king's escheator.4) To grant some relief for losses incurred from the Scots.5) To grant protections for himself and his companions in the king's service.
