Nature of request
The petitioner seeks recovery of the village of Melverley in the March of Wales. He shows that John Lestrange of Knockin and Isolde his wife held the village to them and the heirs of their bodies, and the petitioner is their son and heir. Isolde survived John and died seised of the village. After her death Mortimer seized the township because Isolde held it of him, and has kept it until now, as the township is seized into the king's hands with the other tenements of the earl.

Let this petition be ordered before the king, and there, when the king's sergeants have been summoned and the reasons heard, let justice be done.
