- The petitioners seek confirmation of their charter and an enquiry by oyer and terminer into all the lies and falsehoods about their guild and the articles contained in their charter. They show that the king through his council in parliament recently granted them their charter of various articles concerning their guild. Certain gentlemen (through their alienation from the said guild) made to set right the errors of the guild, and on this matter contested the points included in the charter. Then various guildsmen made some false work in hiding to sell through foreign bearers, upon which the men of the said guild were slandered and the people defamed.
