The petitioners show that when the victuallers provision the city by their barges of victuals, then they are destroyed and laid waste by reason of which senior men inform the king that in the case of one bargeman, he was taken by other misfortunes on his barge, and many other perils by the ... have bewitched the Thames contrary to right and to the great damage of the all the lords and poor people returning there, and they seek a remedy.
