Prior and Canons of Bricett in Suffolk.

Nature of request
The petitioners ask permission to buy from Thomas le Archer and Richard his brother a third part of the manor of Great Bricett, worth £7 each year, held of the honour of Peveril (which honour is in the king's hands). They state that they have permission by his letters patent to purchase £10 worth of lands, except for lands and tenements held in chief. They are to have and to hold the said third of Great Bricett to themselves and their successors forever [in return] for a chantry of three canons in the priory for the soul of John de Bohun and his ancestors, in part satisfaction of the king's aforesaid letters patent. The king will suffer no damage or any other loss by an inquest returned into chancery by the escheator.
