The petitioners seek the restoration of their lands, which were taken into the king's hands because they joined Verdon in rebellion against the king's father, although they did so unwillingly. John's lands are worth [...] per year, Richard's lands are worth 35s 3d per year, Simon's lands are worth two marks per year, Ralph's are worth 9s 4d per year and Thomas's are worth 9s 4d per year, taken into the king's hands and there remain to the great damage of the petitioners.
Nature of endorsement
A writ to the Irish justices that they themselves advise of the manner and the cause of the seizure of the lands contained in this petition, and when they have certified of the cause they are to make a fair and just settlement of the said matters and certify therein to the king.
