Description
Petitioners
Prior of Launde.

King and council.
Occupation
Prior of Launde
Nature of request
The petitioner asks that he and his house should not be disinherited and that John de Boyvill should be prevented from alienating certain lands. He shows that the king's father issued a writ of scire facias to Boyvill (cousin and heir of Hugh Murdac) warning him to acquit the petitioner from a certain suit pending in the court of Barrow, which quittance was not forthcoming. The petitioner then sued several writs to the sheriff of Rutland for quittance from the aforesaid suit, and for this Boyvill maliciously disinherited the petitioner and his house by alienating half of the said lands. The petitioner also asks that in case of statute his power of attorney should go to the paramount lords.
Nature of endorsement
Let him have an order to the justices of king's bench distraining the said John in the lands and tenements, which he held at the time the quittance was adjudged against him.
