Nature of request
The petitioner seeks recovery of goods and chattels seized into the king's hands along with the manor of Temple Hirst when Holland was taken and imprisoned, namely, wheat and rye in measure, and the land sown with barley and oats, and hay in measure worth £30, [taken] by Oriby (who is dead) and Singleton. He shows that with Katherine his wife, they leased two parts of the manor of Temple Hirst from Holland for their lifetimes.
Nature of endorsement
Faithful men of the chancery are to be assigned to enquire in the presence of the keepers etc., and Gilbert de Singleton, to verify the contents of this petition, and if so then this enquiry is to be returned into chancery [and] give him justice.
