Nature of request
1) The petitioners show that the king's officers have distrained them at will without writs and fined them in such inquests without writs, and they seek a remedy therein.2) The petitioners state that the king's officers take payments from the tenants when they are provided or when they sell their tenements etc., and they seek a remedy therein.1)
Nature of endorsement
For the first petition, let them have a writ according to the statutory form; proceed in respect thereof.2) For the second petition, let them have a writ that the officers take no payments from the king's tenants; the same for those who hold of the king in demesne.

No firm context for dating, but suggested on the guard as dating from the reign of Edward III, and presumably therefore from the early part of the reign before the elevation of the county to a palatinate in 1351.
