Nature of request
The petitioner asks that an inquest taken by the Scottish chancellor and returned into chancery should be inspected and justice done to him in accordance thereof. He shows that he has sued three years and more for his petition before the council for right and reason concerning a messuage in Berwick from which he was ousted by the king, by the suggestion of Glashaum contrary to the terms of his charter from the king's father. Under the said petition it was ordered by writ to the Scottish chancellor to enquire into his right and this was done and returned into chancery and brought before the council.
Nature of endorsement
The petitioner is to come into chancery himself or through his attorney and the chancellor will make justice. Let him have a writ in chancery of venire facias to [summon] the said Robert into chancery on the octave of St John the Baptist. And another writ from the petitioner's attorney.
