- The priory was founded by Walter de Lacy in the land of Ewyas in franchise outside of a county and the petitioner seeks the renewal of the charter from de Lacy conferring certain franchises on the priory from the time of King Richard until now, including a clause entitling the petitioner to use articles contained in the charter notwithstanding that they might have fallen into disuse in any particular.
