1) The petitioners show how they have lately sued to the king in various suits and grievances contained in this petition.2) The petitioners show that from the time of the foundation of their church they had right of pasture in a parcel of Kenilworth woods called 'le Frich' appurtenant to the castle and to hunt all manner of animals and carry of all manner of things etc., in all the seasons of the year.3) In year nine of the king (1315-16) Thomas of Lancaster, lord of the castle, entered therein and the petitioners granted him an enclosed parcel of land called 'le coupiz' to be held in severalty of him and his heirs etc., saving to the petitioners and their successors right of pasture in 'le coupez', which continued until Guy de Stoke ousted them.4) The petitioners ask the king to order the chancellor to commission men of law to investigate the case in the presence of de Stoke and prevent their unjust disinheritance.

He showed this writing in chancery, which inspected the same. Orders are to be sent to Guy [de Stoke] that the petitioner is allowed to have what he is owed from the time of writing and according to other ... to the same Guy, as submitted in his petition.
