Nature of request
The petitioner seeks allowance at the exchequer for his expenses of £38 3s 8¼d, 104s, and £23 6s 5d, incurred through the office of chamberlain for fees paid to the constables of Dryslwyn and Dinefwr. He states that Mortimer seized Despenser's lands and goods into the king's hands and entrusted them to the petitioner to pay the constables of the aforesaid castles from the issues of the lands in Cantref Mawr. The king then granted the lands back to Despenser and ordered the petitioner by writ under the privy seal to render his account for the issues to Despenser. The petitioner accounted before Despenser's auditors who refused to allow his payments to the constables of the said castles.

Let a writ containing the petition be sent to Hugh le Despenser that he inform himself about these matters and do right and reason to the prior.
