Nature of request
The petitioner seeks damages and a swift remedy, because Aune (his wife's brother) came to Stockwith on Thursday 28 January 1322 with force and arms and took a horse worth 40s, 100s sterling, and other chattels worth ten marks. Geynesburgh came to Epworth on the following Saturday with force and arms and held him inside the manor until he paid ten marks. Walton came to Haxey on the following Thursday and was paid 40s. Caine came to Westwoodside on the following Wednesday and was paid 40s. Sunnynghagh came to Epworth on Wednesday 5 May 1322 and held the petitioner prisoner until he paid 20s. Berner came to Epworth on the following Monday and was paid 40s. Impyngton came to the petitioner's house at Westwoodside the following Saturday while he was in residence, broke-in and took all his movables worth twenty marks and held the petitioner until he made a bond of 100s, which is now demanded of him by writ.
