The petitioner seeks a writ from the king to his justices that he should not have been outlawed for various robberies in Nottinghamshire before Herle and his fellow itinerant justices, because at the time he was imprisoned in Northampton Castle (by the statute of Acton Burnell) in the custody of the sheriff.
Nature of endorsement
Let the record and process of his outlawry be brought into chancery and examined, and order that justices be assigned to adjudge the petition by writ of the chancery and determine whether he was outlawed against right and reason.
