Description

de Kermerdyn (Carmarthen), Agatha

Nature of request
The petitioner seeks the recovery of a messuage and two carucates of land in Tullaghorewy in the county of Limerick in Ireland, which she held jointly with her husband for their lifetimes with remainder to John de Kermerdyn and his heirs. And since John died without heirs the remainder was to Adam, son of Adam de Kermerdyn and his heirs, whereas Roger Mortimer ousted the petitioner and granted the properties to the king by reason of the felony and outlawry of John de Kermerdyn and enfeoffed the archbishop in the said properties, to hold to himself and his heirs by the king's charter with warranty, for which the petitioner did not travel to Ireland.
Nature of endorsement
The justices in Ireland are ordered that if the case is as presented by the petitioner then justice should be done according to the common law, if otherwise, then the English chancery should be advised of all the facts, and proceed without delay.
Places mentioned
Tullaghorewy (Tullaghorton), County Limerick, Ireland
