Thomas Kene of Selkirk states that as he was travelling along the king's highway with his merchandise, he was robbed near Wentbridge by John de Montkyl of Pontefract and John Parker; and that John de Montkyl and his wife and sons imprisoned him until he made fine with them. He request's the king's grace and aid.

Note
Dated on the guard to the reign of Edward II, and possibly to 1320-1327, noting CPR 1324-7 p.230, an oyer et terminer on complaint of assault against a Thomas de Munkhill amongst others, dated at Wingham, 23 August 1325. The note on the guard also notes that he was apparently murdered in 1327 (CPR 1327-30, p.162).
