Nature of request
Eleanor, widow of Herbert Fitz John, states that a suit between her and Robert de Sapy, concerning a third of the manor of Leckhampstead, has been halted by Robert's claim that he was granted the manor for term of life by Piers Gaveston, Earl of Cornwall, and that since Piers' forfeiture, the reversion belongs to the king, so that he cannot answer without consulting the king. She requests a remedy.
Nature of endorsement
She is to have a writ to the justices etc. that they are to proceed to a final determination of the business, notwithstanding etc., provided that they do not proceed to render judgment without consulting the king.
