Nature of request
Nicholas, son of William Jordan of Childhay, requests a charter of pardon for acquiring a virgate of land with appurtenances in Drimpton without the king's permission, and that he might be discharged of the annual fine paid by his father since the lands were seized into the late King's hand for this reason.
Nature of endorsement
A writ is to be sent to the Escheator, to inquire into the things contained in the petition, and into other necessary things; and when the inquisition is returned in Chancery, justice is to be done.
