Nature of request
The people of Little Yarmouth, Reston, and Gorleston state that their towns have been badly damaged by flooding from the sea, and many of their inhabitants have moved to Great Yarmouth or elsewhere, but that the collector of the fifteenth for Suffolk is nevertheless attempting to collect from them the sum they used to pay. They ask to be released from this assessment forever, or that some other ordinance might be made for them; otherwise they will be forced to abandon their towns.
Nature of endorsement
They are to have writs to the justices of labourers and to the collectors of the fifteenth in the same county, that, considering the misfortunes of the said town, they are to make due apportionment of the sums and issues coming from such labourers in the same county, with people of the said town, according to its misfortunes.
