Nature of request
The Prior of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem in England states that the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer are demanding to know why he ought not to be assessed for fifteenths and other contributions since the king's tenth year, although he claims to have fully paid them. He requests a writ to the Treasurer and Barons to cease their demand, as he is ready to aver that he has already paid.
Nature of endorsement
A writ is to be sent to the Exchequer to have them duly discharged of the fifteenths and other contributions that they can ascertain by acquittances, inquisitions or in other ways that they have paid with the commons, provided always that if anything is in arrears and not paid, they are to give satisfaction for that as reason demands.
