Description
Petitioners
People of the Channel Islands
Addressees
King and council
Nature of request
The people of the Channel Islands state that their attempts to get justice against the wrongs done them by Otto de Graunzoun and his ministers, have constantly been thwarted, both in the time of the king's father and in the time of the present king, by Otto's power and influence. They request that justices loyal to the king and his people be appointed, and that they might have their expenses from the king: and, if they do justice, Otto de Graunzoun should be expelled from the Islands. They also request that the rolls and bills on the matter, which Henry de Spygournel has under the foot of the seal, and those recently made by him, be sent under the foot of the seal before those appointed as justices.
Nature of endorsement
Everyone who feels himself to be harmed by this is to come to Chancery, and he will have a writ in his case to have the errors brought before the king and redressed there.
