Nature of request
William Irebi, formerly Prior of Hereford, states that when he was appointed one of the keepers of the temporalities of the diocese of Hereford, which Edward II had seized into his hand, Adam de Orleton, Bishop of Hereford, through malevolence, procured with Queen Isabella and Roger de Mortimer, on their coming to England, that he might be seized and imprisoned. He is still in prison in Worcester, and requests deliverance.
Nature of endorsement
He is to have a writ to the keeper of the spirituality to have his body brought before the king, and the reason for his imprisonment; and to the keeper of the temporalities also.

CPR 1330-4 pp.181-182 is dated at Westminster, 10 October 1331. The petition must postdate this, as the petitioner says that he is now in prison in Worcester - where Adam de Orleton is now bishop.
