Note (Additional information about the record)
- The provisions were received for the Scottish war in Edward II's sixteenth year (8 July 1322 - 7 July 1323). On 18 July 1324 John Howard is granted a respite from the debts due from his period of office as Sheriff, during his absence on the king's service in Aquitaine (CCR 1323-7 p.202), so the petition is likely to have been presented before then. He was Sheriff of Norfolk and Suffolk between 9 June 1321 and 12 June 1323.
