James de Hotoft states that on the Wednesday before the Purification, in the seventeenth year of Edward II [1324], John de Seynt Mor, formerly Sheriff of Northamptonshire, attached him without warrant and imprisoned him until he made him a bond for £40. He requests a remedy.
