Nature of request
Robert de Hornclyf makes two requests:1) He requests payment of a pension granted to him for his part in the capture of Gilbert de Middelton and other services, which he has not yet been paid.2) He has been in the king's service with five men at arms, currently at his own expense, and requests the king's will as to their further stay and provisioning.
Nature of endorsement
With regard to the requested payment of 40 marks annually, the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer are to be ordered that if they can legitimately establish that that debt is due, then they are to give him payment or an assignment as soon as it can conveniently be done.With regard to the maintenance of five men at arms, etc., if he has maintained them at the king's command, and this can be found or established in the Wardrobe, he is to account there for their wages, for the time for which he reasonably ought to account for this.

CPR 1317-21 p.75 is dated at Westminster, 30 January 1318.Northumberland Petitions no.120, pp.145-6, dates this petition to c.1320, with regard to various accounts for men at arms serving under Robert de Hornclyf in 1319.
