- Robert de Holewell states that when the great officers of Norfolk and Suffolk made fine for great excesses and exactions before Lord Wake and his companions, appointed to hear and determine various trespasses and exactions in the two counties, they maliciously assessed Robert for this fine at more than his lands were worth, although he was never indicted, nor was any complaint made against him, nor did he know anything about this until the money was demanded from him by summons of the Exchequer. He asks that he might be discharged of this fine, as he is ready to be at law if anyone should wish to complain against him.
